| STATUS DEFINITIONS (NV)=Possible Northern Vagrant, (IN)=Possibly resident as Inland fauna, (SE)= Possibly resident as South-east fauna. NORTHERN VAGRANT: These species could enter South Australia from the north or northeast as periodic migrants, particularly during favourable monsoon seasons of combined wet, humid summers and autumns in inland areas. Most of these species are biologically unsuited to the cooler southern areas of South Australian and do not establish even if the food host is present. INLAND FAUNA: These species are established in the Alice Springs area (Northern Territory). They have not as yet, been noted as being established in the adjacent northern areas of South Australia, but it is possible they will occur in that region of the state wherever suitable food host is present in high enough density. SOUTH-EAST FAUNA: These species are eastern state fauna (ie. either the species or the foodplant host requires high humidity), that have been recorded from the south-western areas of Victoria and are likely to occur in similar habitat areas of the South-east Region of South Australia. They are at the westernmost extent of their normal range, and in this marginal environment situation they are likely to be rare, but elsewhere within their normal range within the eastern states they may be common, although some species are naturally quite rare.
