According to voters roll in Borough of Clunes he owned:- 1868 - Houses an d land, Albert Street, Clunes; 1871 - Hotel, houses, shop and land; 1873/ 4 - houses and land
Cause of death, Caromonia of the Bowl
For two years after the death of Lydia, he travelled around Australia, wi th his three sons, aged 8 years, 4 years and 2 years and his Chinese cook , setting up a blacksmiths shop where it was needed.
He eventually lived in Bendigo in Sheepwash Road.
