Swamp Paperbark stand,
looking upstream
Text and Photo by Andrew Winkler
A view of the Swamp Paperbark stand, looking north (upstream) along the main channel of Patawalonga Creek. There are reeds (Phragmites australis) on the left and in the foreground.
The Norfolk Island Hibiscus or Pyramid trees (Lagunaria patersonii) to the right, are exotic to South Australia. They were commonly planted along the boundaries of school ovals and playing fields. On this site they have become a woody weed; these particular specimens have been removed since this photo was taken.
