Friends of Gulf St VincentThe Friends' principal aim is to:
Foster a unified community approach to the protection and wise use of the Gulf of St Vincent |
Sharing the Samphire Coast |
The Friends of Gulf St Vincent support the initiative of local councils, community groups and the World Wildlife Fund in gaining greater protection for the Samphire Coast region of northern Gulf St Vincent, stretching from Ardrossan to Port Gawler. The Samphire Coast is among the most important sites in Australia for migratory shorebirds and, due to increasing development pressures, its importance needs to be more widely recognised and promoted.
