I guess everyone has heard about Bob’s run in with the kangaroo!
Unfortunately, his week-old motorcycle was a write-off and Bob’s been given
another opportunity to make good. He is still working 6-day weeks,
5 am-ish ‘til 5-8 pm-ish, so he wouldn’t have had much time to ride his
bike anyway. The really sad bit was that he’d already made arrangements
to sell his other bike and so is now bikeless. That could change
at any moment. He doesn’t need much encouragement and I’m sure someone
will very slightly bend his little finger sometime in the near future.
The Woodside house is now on the market and as we expected looks so lovely
we are tempted to keep it! Not! Two mortgages and no rental
income is definitely a struggle. Uni has finished for the year. I
can now spend a moment of each day thinking about washing and what to prepare
for dinner. Potato a la Paris (French fries) and Cordon Blue Maccas
is really not a popular choice anymore... can you believe it? We’ve
managed to put our children off McDonalds for life! It’s not so much
the Uni hours or even the home-workload that is hard for me to keep up
with; it’s the 2 productions a week and rehearsals (and of course
the socialising that goes with it), that make a Drama course so time consuming.
And I’m only concentrating on theory and teaching practises! I’ve
passed, so that’s a great relief anyway and now I’m bored. Bob is
rather relieved that the tag team parenting is over for the year. |

Progress at the Victor house has been slow in our eyes and very rapid
according to others. 7 builders rubbish skips and about 50 rubbish
bales have at least made it possible for us to get into most rooms.
Very exciting stuff. I now have a proper study, so when I’m home
I can sit in there and think about all the house work that I should do
now that I’m so bored. The kids are generally doing well. Courtenay
is such a clever little bunny that she has conned her teachers into letting
her skip a year - so she goes into year 6 next year. She is teaching
herself, (because her Mother is never home to take her to lessons), to
play the clarinet. She and Bridgette also did ballroom dancing
lessons for a term and loved it. Bridgette is growing faster than the sunflowers
out the front. She plays violin and has finally cracked the ensemble
stuff. She was also renowned for spinning her instructor off his
feet with her dancing. She certainly has rhythm! Perhaps we
should see she gets a drum kit for Christmas. Sorry! - DOESN’T get
a drum kit for Christmas. |

Sophie is very pleased with herself. We wanted her to stay at
Kindy for another six months but she has been taking lessons from Courtenay
and has convinced her teachers that she would be bored silly and that she
simply must go to school in January. Mum and Dad foiled again. Will
is doing research for his book on how to win friends and influence people.
He has unfortunately had a brush with diabetes and has completely charmed
all of the medical professionals he has associated with for the past ten
days. Dear little trooper only whimpered when he had his seventh
needle in three days. And he was unwell with Chicken Pox at the same
time! He looks OK now but we have to watch him carefully, particularly
when he picks up bugs. (Not the creepy crawly kind!)
Wow, this is one long update! - still, I haven't said much lately,
so you’ll just have to put up with it. Anyway, I’m sure Graham said
2,000 words, 4 cm margins, double spaced and appropriate bibliography!
Bye All. |
