| A lot happens in just a few months. All will be aware that Glenda and
I no longer live together. This for both of us is very sad, however we
both have our worlds to explore. In all of this turmoil a tragic event
happened that all of us now know about, Dan’s death. Most of us had the
pleasure and privilege to meet Dan and feel that special connection he
made with people. You could say much about Dan, filled with life, warm
and beautiful, kind and generous, most importantly a much loved member
of our family and soul partner to Jaecinta. We miss him dearly, but he
left us with that big warm smile and open positive honesty missed in many
today. From here I borrowed a friend’s caravan and moved to
live with Jaecinta for a while. It must be said that the many true friends
of Jaecinta, who gathered to help in every way they could, all deserve
a medal. Between themselves working out timetables to be around to help
out and support. What a terrific bunch of young and mature people
they are. Some of them are pretty damn good cooks as well.
I would also like to thank all of you for your support as well, especially
Harold and family who help with minding kids, feeding and being available
for all and anything. Thank you. The children had to experience a double
dose of grief; they loved and knew Dan as a big brother, as well as the
separation of Glenda and I. For them Life is still a little shaky, but
we are doing all we can to make things as smooth as possible.
Glenda is in Victoria this weekend to see Trish; I have two weeks off to spend down here with the kids, which is great. Glenda will spend most of her time in Adelaide for the next two weeks working on her new production with the Autism Association. The kids wanted to shave my head so; I gave Courtenay the hair clippers and bingo, a quick clean up with the razor and I look like Jeff’s Twin, well, a little better looking!! From me, my car finally died; for six months it has been labouring with a cracked cylinder head and leaking power steering. Coming back to town two weeks ago the water pump collapsed in spectacular fashion and some-what poetically came to rest in the car park of Alfred James funerals on the corner of South road and Beach road. I now have a Nissan Pintara, with the blessing of Harold senior. After having my Tarot cards read last week, I think I’ll curl up in bed for the next six months or so. Not really, life goes on in spectacular fashion and hopefully in the right direction for all of us. Jaecinta is well on the way to a teaching position in, yes read this carefully, Borneo. That’s right, just in that Australian loving place called Indonesia. A rain forest community where she will be teaching English and drama. All negative correspondence can be mailed to her, with many thanks from me. William exercised his manhood at the local bike track this week. One, telling off a bullish looking fifteen year old for smoking, then organising the big boys into taking turns on the tracks. Oh yes, it was William first! Their stunned look and what’s more compliance from this motley looking bunch was a priceless experience. Sophie is doing very well at school with glowing reports, Bridgette has befriended two boys from up the road who are still in awe of a girl their age who is twice their size and strength. Courtenay is growing at a rapid rate, now having to run around in the shower to get wet. |
