Departure Points
The usual
departure point for rides from the city is Victoria Square near the fountain.
It is a good idea to confirm this for each ride and check the time of
departure.
Country Rides
For country
rides beginning elsewhere, usually a town outside Adelaide, riders need
to arrange their own transport. Other club members may be able to assist.
The telephone number of the ride leader is always provided and it is prudent
to check for any change in the meeting place details.
Hot Weather
If the Bureau
of Meteorology's predicted temperature for Adelaide is 33 degrees or over,
the ride will automatically be cancelled. On warm days it is essential
to have plenty of water with you - and make sure you drink it.
Equipment
All riders
should carry a pump, a puncture repair kit and a water bottle, and when
necessary an effective raincoat. Bring lunch or money to buy some. Unless
otherwise indicated rides are planned so that there will be somewhere
to buy lunch.
A
Ride Guide is available (pdf format) for viewing and printing. It
outlines the responsiblities of ride leaders and cyclists on club rides.
